![]() ![]() Does AirPlay do lossless? I know it would be CD quality, not hi-res. I’m also curious about using AirPlay with my Marantz unit. Should I use Bit Perfect plus Apple Music? Or a separate program entirely, like JRiver, Room, Audacity, Ammara (?), or another? What program should I use on my MacBook? I’ve read that Apple Music (the app) can cause some headaches because users need to check the audio midi settings whenever changing resolution. If I choose to use USB-C to USB-A (possibly with optical thrown in…figuring out my cable options) to connect to my Yamaha A-S801, is there data loss with a USB-C to USB-A adapter? I’d like to use a physical connection so I can play my hi-res files. Anyway, I also stream on Qobuz and Tidal. It has a USB input, but there are some quirks with number of files, folders, etc. ![]() I could run USB-C to USB-A to optical, or USB-C to USB-A. First, my amp is a Yamaha A-S801 with a nice DAC. I have two primary options for what to connect to my MacBook. I also have a small part of my library as hi-res files. Almost all of my files are ripped to ALAC. I’m getting a new MacBook Air, and I’d like to know the best way(s) to play my digital music library. ![]()
